The San Joaquin Genealogical Society was organized in 1952 to promote genealogical research through education, publication of information and preservation of historical records.

MEMBERSHIP dues to the SJGS for an individual is $20/year and for a family $25/year.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS are held the 3rd Thursday in the months of January through June and September through November. Unless otherwise specified in the SJGS newsletter, meetings are held at the Margaret Troke Branch Library, 502 West Benjamin Holt Drive, in Stockton, California, from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

BOARD MEETINGS are held the 1st Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Board meetings are open to any SJGS member who would like to attend.

THE SJGS LIBRARY is housed at the Chavez Central Library in Stockton.  The holdings can be searched through the library's online card catalog by clicking HERE.

SJGS member volunteers are at the Chavez Central Library the first and last Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to assist anyone with researching their family history. Open to the public and free of charge. You will find the volunteers upstairs in the genealogical reference section, behind the reference desk on the way to the computer room.
